The College, Swansea University, offers flexible entry onto degrees from one of Wales’s top universities. The College provides different pathways onto undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, at different intakes throughout the year. This allows you to join at a level and a time that best suits you.
By joining one of our Foundation or International Year One programmes, you can begin your studies safe in the knowledge that we are there to support you every step of the way. Serving as an ideal soft landing to higher education in the UK, our undergraduate programmes are the ideal starting point in your Swansea Journey.
Our Pre-masters pathways are available as one, two or three semester options which prepare you for the transition from undergraduate to postgraduate study.
We also provide extra support, in English language for those who need it, to help make the transition from school to university as smooth as possible. Dedicated on-campus teams offer guidance and advice on a range of topics including visa application, accommodation, and finance.

Foundation courses are the ideal option for anyone who may have just missed the qualifications needed to directly join their degree. Foundations can be one, two or three semesters long and provide you with all the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you need to flourish in your undergraduate degree. You will automatically progress into the first year of your degree upon successful completion of your Foundation pathway.
First Year pathways allow you to directly join your undergraduate degree at Swansea University, while receiving extra academic and English support. This pathway is ideal for students who just miss the qualifications necessary to directly join their undergraduate degree and would benefit from a softer landing while making the transition from school to undergraduate.
Like our Foundation Pathways, Pre-master’s can be one, two or three semesters long and are designed to prepare you for your Master’s degree. This course will help you develop all the practical knowledge and academic skills you need to excel at your postgraduate degree, as well as extra English language support if you need it. Upon successful completion of your pre-master’s pathway, you will automatically progress into your Master’s degree.
